Buck Lake County Park Right off of Buck Lake Road is this park, which features lake access, beach, swimming area, picnic areas, playground, ball field, basketball court, volleyball court, picnic shelter, restrooms, parking lot and life jacket kiosks. The Hansville Greenway Wildlife Corridor is accessible from the Buck Lake County Park. Arness Roadside Park Arness Park is a scenic little County park at the head of Apple Tree Cove that is maintained mostly by volunteers and Stillwaters Environmental Learning Center. It is also an ideal kayak launching spot during mid and high tidal elevations. At low tide, there is a long walk across a mudflat. Herons, belted kingfishers and Osprey are often spotted in the vicinity. A Quiet Place Park This small park just outside of downtown Kingston is indeed a quiet place. The trails here delve into the forest and loop around the edge of the park. Along the way there are viewpoints out across the Puget Sound. A few connector trails bisect the loops, so there are many options for routes here. A small pullout along Ohio Ave. serves as the trailhead parking area with enough parking for about 4 cars. Hansville Greenway Wildlife Corridor The Hansville Greenway is a corridor of county-owned natural areas, trail easements, and conservation easements reaching from Puget Sound at Norwegian Point Park to Hood Canal. The Greenway was created in the mid-1990’s through a community partnership with Kitsap County Department of Parks and Recreation. It is located near the north end of the Kitsap Peninsula, just southwest of the unincorporated town of Hansville, adjacent to Buck Lake County Park. The Greenway consists of a 245-acre tract extending from just north of Buck Lake 2 miles to the south and west, a separate 20-acre tract close to the village of Hansville, 2.5 miles of trail easement, and 8.6 acres of conservation easement. Island Lake Park Twenty-three acres of Lake access, swimming, fishing, walking trails, picnic areas, picnic shelter, playground, restrooms, community center, and parking lots in Kitsap County. Just up the road from Silverdale. A beautiful place for a walk and especially with your dog. There is a playground for the kids. Bring a picnic if you like. A great place to remind yourself of the beauties of nature. Kitsap Memorial State Park Proof that beautiful things come in small packages: this 62-acre park north of Poulsbo serves up inspiring sunrise and sunset views. On clear mornings, the east-facing Olympic Mountains reflect pink and orange. On warm summer evenings, their peaks are often cast in silhouette by the glowing red sky. This park also offers camping and saltwater shoreline.
