White Horse Golf Club has one of the toughest courses in the Northwest. Situated on the Kitsap Peninsula, the course is located just five minutes south of the Kingston ferry terminal. The course sits on the Puget Sound between the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, offering panoramic views on every hole. When the Suquamish Tribe bought the club in 2010, one of their top priorities was to make the course more playable. They enlisted John Harbottle for the job, a local architect who has designed several layouts throughout the state. By taking out nearly half of the bunkers, he opened up the greens and made them more approachable. He also widened the fairways and made the landing areas more generous. Since the update, White Horse Golf Club has become one of the most popular on the peninsula. www.whitehorsegolf.com

The 18-hole layout, which originated in 1903, was redesigned in the late 80's and is currently undergoing re- modeling with the help of golf course architect Jeff Mingay. The course offers tree-lined fairways, bunker surrounded greens, and some of the finest conditions you will find in the state. The Par 71 course plays 6,063 yards from the tips, but offers four tee choices providing golfers at every level a great experience and the chance for a new game each time they tee it up. www.wingpointgolf.com/golf-381.html

Village Greens features fairways that are defined with a thick tree line. The small greens are elevated and some are multi-tiered. The design was built on rolling terrain, and eleven holes have water hazards due to a creek that runs through the layout. Sand bunkers come into play throughout the course. Ladies tee off from the same set as the men.
